AP Transco Internship: IIT Students Can Apply for Summer Prog

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh Transmission Corporation (AP Transco) has announced a summer internship programme, inviting applications from students of IITs and other recognized institutions. Interns will work on live assignments related to grid planning, system operations, and transmission infrastructure.

Programme Structure

According to the official notification, the programme is based on defined problem statements rather than observational training. Interns will be attached to functional wings and must deliver outputs usable within AP Transco's operational framework, including analytical models, software tools, dashboards, and technical documentation.

Problem Statements and Wings

AP Transco has identified 44 problem statements across 10 functional wings. These include grid modelling and expansion planning, renewable energy forecasting, substation automation, asset management, cybersecurity, power market operations, and finance and regulatory analytics. The internship duration will range from eight to 12 weeks, with possible extensions based on performance and project needs.
