Massive Drug Haul
The police seized a substantial quantity of illegal substances, including 9 kg 64 grams of MDMA, 19,755 LSD strips, and 11 kg 470 grams of Ganja, along with other narcotics. The total value of the seized drugs is estimated at Rs 36.67 crore, marking one of the largest drug busts in the city this year.
Multi-Jurisdictional Arrests
Among the 16 arrested suspects, four are foreign nationals, eight are from other states, and four are local residents. This diverse group highlights the interstate and international links of the drug network. The police have also seized electronic devices and vehicles used in the illegal trade.
Targeted Youth
The network operated by procuring narcotics at low prices from various sources and distributing them within Bengaluru. Their primary target was college students, whom they aimed to addict to maximize illegal profits. The police have warned educational institutions and parents to remain vigilant.
