The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) undertaking has established a new fault control office in D ward within the Mumbai Central area, which also serves parts of E ward. This office will cater to numerous consumers in Tardeo, Mumbai Central, and sections of Grant Road. The facility, staffed by 84 employees, addresses a long-standing demand from local residents who faced difficulties reaching BEST customer support during power outages.
Addressing Consumer Complaints
Over the past year, BEST registered approximately 7,500 complaints related to power faults. Customer care centers in central Mumbai were inundated with calls, many of which experienced delays in resolution. In response, BEST approved the creation of this new fault control center during a recent meeting. The center includes a control room and an emergency response team on standby to deploy to sites during power outages.
Enhanced Service Capabilities
With the new office, BEST aims to improve response times and streamline complaint handling. The dedicated team will work around the clock to ensure quicker restoration of electricity supply. This initiative is part of BEST's broader efforts to upgrade infrastructure and enhance customer service reliability in the region.
