The retail price of compressed natural gas (CNG) for vehicles in Pune city, including Pimpri Chinchwad and adjoining areas, has been revised upwards. The new rate will be effective from midnight of May 8 and 9.
Price Revision Details
The increase is Rs 1.5 per kilogram, inclusive of taxes. With this revision, the CNG retail selling price in the region will be Rs 92.25 per kg. This change is applicable for all vehicles using CNG as fuel in the specified areas.
Impact on Consumers
This price hike is likely to affect daily commuters and commercial vehicle operators who rely on CNG as a cost-effective alternative to petrol and diesel. The increase comes amid fluctuating global energy prices and domestic supply dynamics.
Authorities have not provided an official reason for the revision, but such adjustments are often linked to changes in input costs or supply conditions. Consumers are advised to check the latest rates at their nearest CNG stations.
