The Admission Committee has officially released the final answer key for the Diploma to Degree Common Entrance Test (DDCET), which is conducted for admissions into engineering and pharmacy degree courses. Along with the key, amended marks have been awarded to candidates due to errors identified in certain questions.
Examination Schedule and Objections
The DDCET examination for engineering aspirants was held on May 5, while the pharmacy entrance test took place on May 9. Following the exams, a provisional answer key was published, and candidates were invited to raise objections. Around 34 students submitted their concerns regarding discrepancies in the provisional answers.
Review and Finalization
After reviewing these objections, the authorities finalized the answer key and acknowledged errors in a few questions. In the engineering paper, three questions were found to be incorrect. According to sources, one question was outside the prescribed syllabus, another had more options than specified, and a third question was framed incorrectly.
As a result, candidates appearing for the engineering exam will be awarded a total of six marks, calculated at two marks per question. Similarly, in the pharmacy exam, one question was identified as incorrect, and candidates will receive two marks.
Role of Gujarat Technological University
The exam, conducted under the Gujarat Technological University (GTU), plays a crucial role in facilitating lateral entry admissions from diploma to degree programs. Officials stated that the decision to award amended marks was taken to ensure fairness and transparency in the evaluation process.
Next Steps in Admission Process
With the final answer key now released, the admission process is expected to move forward. Candidates can anticipate further updates regarding merit lists and counselling schedules in the coming days. The authorities have assured that all necessary steps will be taken to maintain the integrity of the admission procedure.
