The Goa Public Service Commission (GPSC) has resolved to adopt an online system for accepting requisitions from government departments and applications from candidates. This decision, made on Saturday, aims to enhance efficiency, minimize manual errors, and provide a user-friendly interface for both applicants and administrators.
Implementation of Direct Recruitment Management System
The GPSC has decided to implement, train, and provide handholding for the Direct Recruitment Management System (DRMS). This system will transform the direct recruitment process into a streamlined, transparent, and easily manageable digital system.
Online Requisition Submission
The new system will allow departments to submit requisition forms online along with necessary documents. A GPSC dealing hand will scrutinize each requisition and check for discrepancies. If any discrepancies are found, the requisition may be rejected or returned to the department for correction.
“If rejected, the particular department has to resubmit the requisition after corrections in the submitted form. After acceptance of the requisition by GPSC, a unique requisition ID will be created, and the department will receive an acknowledgement and the requisition in PDF format,” a senior government officer said.
Configuration of Application Forms
The online system will facilitate the configuration of candidate application forms based on the requirements specified in each requisition. In addition to the standard application form predefined by the commission, GPSC technical staff will configure application forms for each requisition based on parameters decided by the GPSC. These parameters may include the validity of the advertisement, application fees, post-based eligibility criteria or checks, and information required from candidates in the form of questions.
“This application form will be available to the candidates as per the validity of the form,” a senior government officer added.
Candidate Registration and Profile Management
The online system will also facilitate candidate registration and profile management, enabling applicants to apply for various vacancies published through an online portal.
“Candidates will create their profile (predefined by the commission) after successful registration on the online application portal towards candidate and e-KYC. This registration should be one time and should generate a unique ID. One-time registration needs to be paired up with facial authentication before applying for a vacancy. Once a profile is generated by the candidate, it is required to be locked,” a senior government officer explained.
This digital transformation is expected to streamline recruitment processes, reduce paperwork, and enhance transparency in the selection of candidates for government positions in Goa.
