GTA 6 Third Trailer Likely Delayed Beyond May as Marketing Starts in Summer
GTA 6 Third Trailer Unlikely Before Summer

Fans eagerly awaiting the third trailer for Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 6 may need to exercise additional patience. Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has indicated that Rockstar Games' marketing campaign for the highly anticipated title is not expected to commence before the official start of summer. This statement counters recent speculation that a new trailer could arrive before the end of May.

Marketing Plans Revealed

In an interview with Variety, Zelnick stated that Rockstar intends to begin promoting GTA 6 during the summer season, which officially begins in late June. "So the next few weeks I don't think it'll be summertime yet, but when it's summertime, Rockstar expects to start marketing 'GTA 6,'" he said. Many fans interpret this as an indication that any new promotional material, including a potential third trailer, is unlikely to debut before June 21. However, Rockstar has not officially confirmed a release date for the next trailer.

Implications for Gaming Events

The comments also suggest that GTA 6 may not feature at upcoming gaming events in the near term, despite speculation surrounding presentations such as Summer Game Fest and other showcases. This could mean fans will have to wait longer for new footage or details.

Pricing and Pre-Orders

Zelnick also dismissed expectations that Take-Two would announce the game's pricing during its latest earnings release. When asked by Variety if GTA 6 pricing details would be revealed alongside quarterly earnings, he responded, "No. We never make marketing announcements in our analyst calls. Never ever ever." The executive also addressed rumors about pre-orders, pricing, and potential delays. "I think reiterating November 19 as launch day today is probably a positive. I think we've been really clear that we're releasing the title on November 19," he added.

Release Date and Platforms

Take-Two has maintained that GTA 6 remains scheduled to launch on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. A PC version has not been announced. During the earnings discussion, Zelnick explained how Take-Two prepares financial forecasts without publicly confirming the game's price. "Whenever we put together our guidance, obviously based on our expectations regarding our pipeline, release schedule and pricing, and sometimes our expectations cannot be realized in the fullness of time, that could be because the title is delayed, or pricing changes, or unit sales expectations change. But yes, of course, when we build our model, which is used to create guidance, it does have full assumptions in it. Even if we made assumptions, that doesn't mean that they are set in stone," he explained.
