Gujarat University Exam Paper Includes Out-of-Syllabus Questions, Students Protest
Gujarat University Exam Paper Has Out-of-Syllabus Questions

Ahmedabad: Gujarat University once again faced criticism on Saturday after the BCom Semester-2 NSS (National Service Scheme) examination paper contained several questions that were not part of the prescribed syllabus. The error led to chaos at KK Shastri College in Maninagar, where hundreds of students were appearing for the exam.

Students Voice Anger Over Syllabus Discrepancy

Angry students alleged that the questions in the paper were unrelated to the syllabus they had studied. They lodged strong objections with college authorities, demanding an explanation for the discrepancy. Many students expressed frustration, stating that the unexpected content left them unprepared and confused.

College Administration Denies Responsibility

The college administration, however, denied any responsibility for the error and placed the blame squarely on Gujarat University. Officials stated that the examination paper was provided by the university and that the college had no role in its preparation or vetting.

Time Constraints Add to Student Frustration

Students also complained that due to the disruption caused by the out-of-syllabus questions, they were left with barely 20 minutes to complete the paper, instead of the usual one hour. They argued that it was impossible to finish the exam in such a short time, especially with unfamiliar questions, which further aggravated the confusion.

Frustrated with the management's response, many students chose not to take the exam at all. Later in the day, a large group of students gathered at Gujarat University to stage a protest, demanding accountability and a review of the examination process.
