Hoshiarpur students have demonstrated exceptional performance in the Punjab State Talent Search Examination (PSTSE), with 42 students securing places in the state merit list. This achievement underscores the growing strength of government schools in the district, reflecting hard work, effective teaching, and high learning standards.

PSTSE Results Declared by SCERT Punjab

The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Punjab, officially announced the results of the Punjab State Talent Search Examination (PSTSE) for Class X for the academic session 2025-26. The examination was conducted on January 4, 2026. According to the notification issued by the department, a total of 500 students from across Punjab secured places in the category-wise state merit list. Students from Hoshiarpur district delivered an outstanding performance, with 42 students from government schools and Schools of Eminence making it to the state merit list.

District Toppers Shine Bright

Among the district toppers, Nidhi of Government Senior Secondary School, Budha Bar, secured the highest position in Hoshiarpur. She scored 128 marks and achieved rank 27 in the state merit list. Amritpal of School of Eminence, Dasuya, secured the second position in the district with 120 marks and a state rank of 67. Parul of Government Senior Secondary School, Dholwaha, stood third in the district with 118 marks.

Rural and Semi-Urban Schools Excel

Government schools from rural and semi-urban areas performed exceptionally well in the examination. Government Senior Secondary School, Hardo Khundpur, recorded one of the best performances, with the highest number of students securing places in the merit list. Students from School of Eminence Tanda, Government Senior Secondary School Piplanwala, Government High School Jahadpur Kamalu, and Government Senior Secondary School Sansarpur also achieved impressive results.

Average Scores Reflect Strong Performance

Official data showed that students from Hoshiarpur recorded an average score of 48.02 in the mental ability test and 58.14 in the scholastic aptitude test, indicating a well-rounded academic capability.
