IndiGo Passengers in Dark After Power Failure on Flight

Passengers aboard an IndiGo flight from Vadodara to Delhi were left in the dark after a power supply disruption on the aircraft. The incident occurred when the Ground Power Unit (GPU) malfunctioned, cutting off electricity to the plane while it was still on the tarmac.

The disruption lasted approximately 30 minutes, causing discomfort and anxiety among travelers. According to an airline spokesperson, engineers took about 12 to 15 minutes to identify and fix the glitch in the GPU. An additional 15 minutes were required to fully restore the power supply to the aircraft.

Passenger Experience

Passengers reported that the cabin lights went out suddenly, leaving them in darkness. The air conditioning also stopped functioning, making the environment stuffy and uncomfortable. Many travelers expressed frustration over the lack of communication from the crew during the incident.

One passenger said, "It was quite scary. We were sitting in the dark without any information for what felt like a long time. The crew eventually assured us that they were working on the issue."

Engineers Resolve the Issue

The airline confirmed that the problem was due to a technical fault in the GPU, which is used to provide power to the aircraft while it is on the ground. Once the glitch was resolved, the power was restored, and the flight departed after a brief delay.

An IndiGo representative stated, "Our engineers acted promptly to rectify the issue. The safety and comfort of our passengers are our top priority. We regret the inconvenience caused."

The flight eventually took off for Delhi after the power supply was stabilized. No further incidents were reported during the journey.
