Jharsuguda: The Jharsuguda district police have successfully dismantled an inter-state narcotics and arms syndicate, resulting in the arrest of three individuals. A substantial quantity of contraband ganja, a firearm, live ammunition, and Rs 4.87 lakh in cash—believed to be proceeds from illegal trade—were seized, police confirmed on Thursday.

Details of the Arrests

The accused have been identified as Md. Kamal alias Kamaluddin (32) and Suresh Singh (30), both residents of Bandhabahal, and Narendra Prasad Bais (22), a supplier originally from Singrauli district in Madhya Pradesh, currently residing in Mahadevpada in Banharpali. The trio was part of a larger network involved in the clandestine transportation and distribution of ganja across industrial and residential areas of Jharsuguda.

Ongoing Investigation

Further investigation is underway to trace other members of the syndicate and uncover the full extent of their operations. Police are examining the seized cash and materials to establish links to other criminal activities.
