Jammu & Kashmir Bank has opened applications for 614 apprentice positions under the Apprentices Act, 1961, with the process concluding today. The notification was issued on April 20, 2026, and candidates have been allowed to submit forms through the official website within a limited application window.
The recruitment drive targets graduates seeking entry into the banking sector through a structured apprenticeship programme. Selected candidates will undergo training for 12 months across multiple regions, with placements spread across districts in Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, and other parts of India.
Application Window and Fee Structure
Online applications began on April 20, 2026, and will close on April 26, 2026. Candidates must complete registration and submission within this period. The application fee is set at INR 700 for general category applicants, while candidates from reserved categories are required to pay INR 500. Payments are to be made through online mode only.
Vacancy Distribution Across Regions
Out of the total 614 posts, 461 vacancies are allocated to the Jammu & Kashmir region and 18 to Ladakh. The remaining 135 posts are distributed across other regions, including Delhi, Mumbai, Lucknow, Bangalore, and Mohali. District-level allocation includes Srinagar and Jammu with 75 vacancies each, followed by Baramulla with 35, and Anantnag and Budgam with 30 each.
Eligibility Criteria and Age Limit
Applicants must hold a graduation degree from a recognised university, completed on or after January 01, 2022. Candidates are also required to possess knowledge of the local language of the region they apply for. The age limit is set between 20 and 28 years as on January 01, 2026, with relaxation applicable as per government norms.
Stipend and Training Details
Selected apprentices will receive a monthly stipend of INR 13,500, comprising INR 9,000 contributed by the bank and INR 4,500 provided by the government through direct benefit transfer. In addition, a conveyance allowance of INR 1,250 will be paid. No further allowances are included during the training period.
Selection Process and Application Steps
Selection will be based on an online written examination consisting of 100 questions for 100 marks, divided equally between general awareness and English, and quantitative aptitude with reasoning. Each section carries a duration of 30 minutes, and negative marking of 0.25 applies for incorrect responses.
Candidates must first register on the NATS apprenticeship portal before applying on the bank’s website. Required documents include photograph, signature, thumb impression, and a handwritten declaration.
