Kurukshetra University Launches AI Placement Platform with Google Cloud

The University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET) at Kurukshetra University has launched an AI-powered job fair platform in collaboration with Google Cloud and Placecom. The platform aims to connect students with suitable employment opportunities using artificial intelligence and data-driven recruitment.

Inauguration and Vision

Vice-Chancellor Som Nath Sachdeva inaugurated the platform in the presence of industry leaders, representatives from Google Cloud and Placecom, and other dignitaries. Sachdeva stated that the AI-powered platform would simplify the recruitment process for both students and employers by bringing them together on a common digital platform. He emphasized the inclusive nature of the initiative, noting that it aims to benefit a large number of students by providing equitable access to employment opportunities.

Students and companies are currently being registered on the platform. After application scrutiny and interviews, students can be hired directly through the platform. Sachdeva added, “Such job fairs not only help students secure suitable careers but also enable industries to identify the right talent.”

Role of AI in Education and Employment

VC Sachdeva observed that artificial intelligence is set to play a transformative role in both education and employment. He noted that AI has already strengthened online learning and will continue to enhance teaching, learning, and recruitment processes. However, he cautioned that AI will not replace human potential; rather, it will expand human capabilities by automating routine tasks while remaining dependent on human judgement and direction.

Vaibhav Shrivastava of Google Cloud said that AI has the potential to make learning easier for students, enable teachers to deliver more effective instructions, and help educational administrators utilise institutional resources efficiently. He explained, “The AI-enabled platform supports seamless placement drives by matching students’ skills with industry requirements and connecting them with the most appropriate employers.”

Platform Features and Recruitment Timeline

The platform uses AI to analyse resumes, recommend improvements, match candidates with suitable opportunities, and enhance their employability by making resumes more industry-ready. According to the university’s training and placement officer, the AI-powered job fair was launched on July 9, 2026, and registered companies will carry out recruitment via online and offline modes until September 15, 2026.

Sunil Dhingra, Director of UIET, introduced the objectives of the event and highlighted the university’s efforts to strengthen industry-academia collaboration. More than 41 companies have already registered as employers on the platform.
