The Maharashtra state cabinet, in its meeting on Tuesday, granted approval for the allotment of 15 acres of land in Panvel to the Ritanand Balved Education Foundation, which serves as the parent institution of Amity University. This decision was announced through a government press release.
Expansion Plans for Amity University
According to the official statement, Amity University currently operates 18 branches offering a diverse range of educational courses. The institution has a student population exceeding 5,000. The university had formally requested additional land to introduce new academic programs and facilitate further educational expansion.
Land Allocation Details
The cabinet approved the provision of approximately 15 acres of land, which will be made available under the Class-II occupancy category. The allotment is contingent upon the payment of the possession amount. The designated land will be utilized exclusively for educational purposes, including the construction of educational complexes, playgrounds, hostels, libraries, and laboratories.
This move is expected to significantly enhance the infrastructure and capacity of Amity University, enabling it to offer more courses and accommodate a larger number of students in the future.
