Revamped IRCTC Website to Launch by July 15 After Students Flag Issues
New IRCTC Website by July 15 After Student Complaints

Jaipur: Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced on Thursday that a revamped IRCTC website will be launched by July 15. This decision came after students at MNIT Jaipur highlighted persistent glitches on the ticket-booking platform, particularly with OTP and CAPTCHA verification, during an interaction with the minister.

Student Raises Common Issue

Labhisha Meena, a student from the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, told TOI, “The minister was interacting with students, so I raised a common issue faced by many citizens who try to book tickets through IRCTC. Getting an OTP or CAPTCHA on the portal is very difficult, and many times, tickets cannot be booked.”

Immediate Action by Minister

Upon hearing the complaint, the minister immediately dialed senior officials at IRCTC and discussed the issue. Subsequently, he announced that a new website would be launched by July 15 to address these technical problems.

RailOne App Recommended

Students also noted that Vaishnaw urged them to use the RailOne app, developed by Indian Railways, for booking tickets or accessing other railway services. The app is designed to provide a smoother user experience.

Breastfeeding Spaces Suggestion

Another student, Naaz Bano, raised the issue of difficulties faced by women while breastfeeding on trains. She suggested creating dedicated breastfeeding spaces in every coach. Vaishnaw asked his team to note the suggestion for further consideration.

This proactive response highlights the ministry's commitment to improving passenger experience and addressing user feedback promptly.
