NYC Tech Pro Earns $6K Monthly from Premium Pet Care Venture

A New York City-based tech professional is earning a handsome monthly salary of more than $6,000 (approximately Rs 5.72 lakh) through a lucrative venture started from his interest in pets. According to an exclusive report by People, Coby Goodhart, 28, launched his company in 2025, just two years after settling in New York City. The entrepreneur successfully launched a premium pet care venture even while working as an engineer.

How It Started

It all began from an interest in dogs which gradually turned into a successful enterprise. Goodhart provides top-notch dog walking and pet care services to busy pet lovers of New York City. According to reports, the market for luxurious pet services has experienced fast growth within New York, where working professionals are willing to pay top dollars for their pets to be looked after while they are away. Although he has a stressful job as an IT specialist, Goodhart manages to thrive in both fields. He is now a household name online due to viral stories about him and his excellent entrepreneurship skills.

Balancing Two Careers

Goodhart shared, “This is something I've built completely around that schedule, in the mornings, on my lunch break, evenings and weekends. I also have a walker I've brought on and trained, and I pay her during hours when I'm at my day job. The goal is to grow it to the point where it becomes my full-time focus.” He added, “I'm up early for morning walks before my engineering job starts. I squeeze in walks on my lunch break, then back out in the evenings after work. My walker handles midday walks while I'm on the clock. Weekends are fuller, with walks, training sessions and client check-ins. It's a lot, but I genuinely love it. I also hand out business cards on walks and to doormen. They know everyone in the building and are incredibly well-connected.”

Pricing and Passion

While talking about his love for dogs, he mentioned, “There's something grounding about spending time with animals that just want to move, explore and be with you. Pricing varies by client; factors like location, dog size, behavior and schedule all play into it. It's a luxury service, so I price accordingly and ensure every client feels that in the experience.”

Social Media Reactions

Some internet users described the entrepreneur as an “inspirational figure,” as he managed to turn a side hustle into an extremely profitable venture. People have jokingly pointed out that dogs living in New York are living “a better life than humans.” Others commented that his story is an example of how far the pet-care industry has come. Indeed, most social media users were quite shocked at the profitability that can be attained from pet care. “This goes to show that any passion can make money,” one social media user noted. Meanwhile, another social media user wrote, “There is no understatement when it comes to how big the pet business is.”

The growing pet-care industry has enabled many young entrepreneurs to establish lucrative businesses worldwide. It is believed that pet owners are becoming more willing to pay for quality pet care services. Goodhart’s business has managed to inspire many people on social media to try their luck in generating income from their hobbies.
