Punjab Public Works Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO inaugurated a state-of-the-art computer laboratory at a School of Eminence in Amritsar on Thursday. The initiative is part of the state government's efforts to enhance digital literacy and provide modern educational infrastructure to students.

Empowering Students with Technology

The newly established computer lab is equipped with 25 high-performance computers, internet connectivity, and educational software. Speaking on the occasion, Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO emphasized the importance of integrating technology into the education system. He stated that the Punjab government is committed to bridging the digital divide and ensuring that students in government schools have access to the same resources as those in private institutions.

School of Eminence Initiative

The School of Eminence program was launched by the Punjab government to transform select government schools into centers of excellence. These schools are provided with additional resources, including smart classrooms, libraries, and now computer labs. The minister noted that such facilities would prepare students for future careers in technology and innovation.

Community Response

Local residents and school staff welcomed the development. The school principal expressed gratitude to the government for prioritizing education. Harbhajan Singh ETO announced that similar computer labs would be set up in other Schools of Eminence across the state. The government aims to equip all government schools with computer labs by 2025, aligning with the National Education Policy 2020's focus on digital learning.
