Purnia Airport on Saturday unveiled its summer flight schedule for 2026, set to take effect from June 1, promising enhanced connectivity to major Indian cities including Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Delhi, and Hyderabad.
Star Air Operations
Under the new schedule, Star Air will operate two daily services linking Purnia with Kolkata and Ahmedabad. The first flight, S5 618/621, arrives from Ahmedabad at 8:45 AM and departs for Kolkata at 9:25 AM. The second flight, S5 620/619, arrives from Kolkata at 12:25 PM and departs for Ahmedabad at 1:05 PM. Both services will operate daily throughout the week.
IndiGo Services Expand
IndiGo will continue multiple daily operations from the airport. Flight 6E-7924/7925, operated with an ATR-72 aircraft, arrives from Kolkata at 11:20 AM and departs at 11:55 AM. Another daily service, 6E-6559/6560, using an A-320N aircraft, connects Purnia with Delhi, arriving at 1:00 PM and departing at 1:55 PM.
IndiGo will also operate flights to Hyderabad under flight number 6E-5935/5936, utilizing A-320N aircraft. This service arrives at 2:40 PM, with departures scheduled at 3:40 PM from Monday to Friday and on Sunday, while on Saturdays the flight departs at 3:55 PM.
Passenger Traffic Remains Steady
According to airport officials, passenger traffic at Purnia Airport has remained consistent in 2026. In March, the airport handled 308 aircraft movements, comprising 154 arrivals and 154 departures, with total passenger traffic reaching 30,532. In April, the airport recorded 282 aircraft movements and a total passenger footfall of 27,725. Earlier figures showed 27,412 passengers in January and 28,739 in February.
This summer schedule is expected to further boost connectivity and economic activity in the region, providing travelers with more options and flexibility for their journeys.
