The Rajasthan government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), Hyderabad, and the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) to enhance students' foreign language skills. Under this initiative, 1,000 students will be trained annually.
The agreement was officiated in Jaipur in the presence of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Jayant Chaudhary, and Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma.
Languages and Training Details
Students will receive training in languages such as French, German, Spanish, Japanese, and Korean. The initiative aims to improve communication skills, boost employability, and align skill development with global workforce needs, creating pathways for international career opportunities.
Chief Minister's Remarks
Highlighting the state's tourism potential, Chief Minister Sharma said foreign language proficiency holds special significance for Rajasthan, which attracts tourists from across the world. “With the growth of tourism, employment opportunities have expanded for guides, hotel managers, travel agents, and business professionals proficient in foreign languages,” he said.
Union Minister's Address
Addressing students, Union Minister Pradhan said that the youth of Rajasthan possess an innate talent for innovation and entrepreneurship, alongside a natural aptitude for assimilating diverse languages and cultures. “Learning languages such as French, German, Japanese, Korean, and Spanish will unlock new employment opportunities for the youth. In future, the folk tales of Rajasthan such as the saga of Prithviraj Chauhan will be translated into foreign languages and shared with the world,” said Pradhan.
Pradhan added that countries like Japan and Korea offer vast employment prospects. “If our youth acquire proficiency in the languages of these nations, they can secure opportunities not only in the software sector but also across various other fields, including skilled trades and marketing.”
