Your iPhone or iPad allows you to capture a video of your screen for sharing gameplay, creating app tutorials, reporting bugs, or providing step-by-step instructions. While many users rely on third-party applications for screen recording, iPhones come with a built-in feature that lets you record your screen directly without any additional software.
How to Enable Screen Recording on iPhone
Before you start recording, ensure the screen recording shortcut is added to your Control Center. Follow these steps:
- Go to Settings > Control Center.
- Make sure Access Within Apps is enabled.
- Swipe down from the top-right corner of your iPhone screen to open Control Center.
- Tap the plus (+) icon and select Add a Control.
- From the list, choose Screen Recording to add it to Control Center.
Once added, open the app, webpage, or screen you wish to record.
How to Record Your iPhone Screen with Audio
To start recording, swipe down from the top-right corner again to open Control Center and tap the Screen Recording icon. Your iPhone will begin a short countdown before recording starts.
Recording Audio
If you want to record audio along with the video, long-press the Screen Recording button before starting. You will see a Microphone option; tap it to turn on audio recording. This allows you to capture your voice as you explain what is happening on the screen.
By default, recordings are saved in the Photos app, though users may see other save options depending on their device settings.
During and After Recording
After the countdown ends, the recording begins. A red indicator with a timer will appear at the top of the screen. When you are done, tap the red indicator and select Stop. Your video will be saved automatically to the Photos app.
Users can also pause the recorded video later and take screenshots if they missed capturing a specific moment during the recording.
