The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have officially announced the results of the 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT) for the recruitment of Junior Engineer (JE), Depot Material Superintendent (DMS), and Chemical and Metallurgical Assistant (CMA) under CEN 05/2025. Candidates who successfully cleared this initial stage have been provisionally shortlisted for the upcoming 2nd Stage CBT.
Shortlisting Criteria and Reservation Benefits
According to the official notification, candidates were shortlisted based on their performance in the 1st Stage CBT. The RRBs stated that the shortlisting process considered the order of preference submitted by candidates for different posts. Importantly, candidates who availed reservation benefits under categories such as OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), and Ex-Servicemen (ExSM) will continue to be considered under the same categories in all further stages of recruitment.
Scorecards and Qualifying Status Available
The RRB informed candidates that individual scores and qualifying status for the 2nd Stage CBT can be accessed through the official websites of the respective Railway Recruitment Boards. The result link became active on May 13, 2026, at 5 pm. To view the scorecard, candidates must log in using their registration number and date of birth. Along with score details, the portal also displays the question paper attempted and the correct answers marked among the available options.

Candidates can follow these steps to download the RRB JE result 2026:
- Visit the official website of your respective Railway Recruitment Board.
- On the homepage, click on the link for "RRB JE Result 2026" or the CEN 05/2025 result notification.
- A login window will appear. Enter your Registration Number and Date of Birth in the required fields.
- Click on the submit/login button. Your qualifying status, scorecard, and result details will be displayed.
- Download the result and scorecard PDF for future reference. You can also check your question paper and correct answers through the login portal.

2nd Stage CBT Schedule to Be Announced Later
The Railway Recruitment Boards have stated that the dates for the 2nd Stage CBT will be announced separately in due course. Shortlisted candidates will receive updates through official RRB websites, SMS, and email alerts. The exam city intimation slip is expected to be released approximately 10 days before the examination date, while e-call letters or admit cards will be made available four days prior to the CBT.
Document Verification Based on 2nd Stage Performance
The RRB clarified that further shortlisting for document verification will depend on candidates' performance in the 2nd Stage CBT. The boards emphasized that the candidature of all shortlisted candidates remains provisional. Officials warned that candidature can be cancelled at any stage if discrepancies, false information, or malpractice is detected during the recruitment process. The notification also underlined that merely qualifying for the 2nd Stage CBT does not guarantee an appointment in the Railways.
The first stage examination was conducted on February 19, 20, and 25, 2026, across multiple centres nationwide. This recruitment drive is considered one of the major railway hiring exercises for technical posts, attracting lakhs of candidates from various states.
