TCS Free Training for Patna University Students

In a move to enable students pursuing arts, science, and commerce courses in different colleges affiliated to Patna University (PU) to become job-ready, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) will soon provide 104 hours of free training under various modules.

According to a decision taken at a meeting between PU and TCS officials held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor Ajay Kumar Singh, the training will be conducted in batches of 50 students as part of TCS’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.

A detailed discussion was held on the format of the training under the youth employment programme. Students who successfully complete the programme will receive certificates and may get job opportunities through TCS.

The principals of Patna College, Patna Science College, Vanijya Mahavidyalaya, BN College, and Magadh Mahila College have been informed about the scheme, the VC said. A formal MoU between TCS and PU will be signed soon.

Senior TCS officials, including Country Head Saurabh Srivastava, Regional Head Gaurav Kumar, and Youth Employment Programme Head Chandrashekhar Natarajan, as well as PU placement cell head S B Lall, attended the meeting.

PU Institute Converted into PG Department

The Institute of Public Administration under PU has been upgraded to a full-fledged postgraduate department following approval by Governor Syed Ata Hasanain on a proposal submitted by the university.

The department will introduce a two-year postgraduate course in public administration from the current academic session. Earlier, the institute offered a one-year diploma course.
