Hyderabad: Telangana's transition to the VAHAN vehicle services portal has demonstrated significant progress, with the transport department reporting robust registration figures and enhanced system performance as of April 30, 2026.
Registration Milestones Achieved
Officials announced that 86,295 temporary registrations have been issued across the state through the portal. Additionally, 68,852 vehicles have received permanent registration numbers. The fancy number module has been successfully implemented, with 2,796 online reservations and auctions completed so far, ensuring transparent allotment of preferred numbers.
System Performance Improvements
Authorities noted that approval rates and processing speed have improved in recent days, indicating that the system is stabilizing quickly after phased implementation. Pending applications under verification and inspection have been significantly reduced, with the backlog now brought down to fewer than 25 applications per login. Technical support from NIC is continuing, and more modules will be introduced in phases to strengthen digital vehicle services across Telangana.
