Chennai: Tamil Nadu Dr Ambedkar Law University is likely to release the merit list for the five-year integrated law degree programmes offered by the School of Excellence in Law, government law colleges, and government quota seats in private law colleges this week.
Ranking Criteria
The rank list is being prepared for courses based on scores in four subjects (excluding languages) in the Class XII examinations. Students will be ranked by the aggregate scores in these four subjects.
“After the release of the merit list, we will issue allotment orders. Students will join the respective colleges after certificate verification by the fourth week of June,” an official from the university said.
Seats and Applications
There are 600 seats in the School of Excellence in Law, and the university has received 6,700 applications this year. It is offering five-year honours courses such as BA LLB, BCom LLB, BBA LLB, and BCA LLB. Students must secure a minimum of 70% marks in Class XII, while SC and ST category students need at least 60%.
For 2,503 seats in government law colleges and 897 government quota seats in private law colleges, the university has received 16,000 applications. Candidates must secure 45% marks, with SC and ST category students requiring 40% as eligibility marks.
“The number of applications is more or less the same compared to the previous year. The counselling will be conducted online for law admissions,” an official added.
Application Timeline
The university called for applications from May 18 to June 5. Dates for applying for three-year LLB programmes and LLM (postgraduate law programmes) will be announced later.
