Hyderabad: Excise officials arrested two undergraduate students and seized narcotics worth ₹2.58 lakh during a raid at Dhulapally. The accused were taken into custody under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Details of the Operation
Acting on a tip-off, the excise state task force (STF) intercepted an Innova near a gated community at Dhulapally on the Suraram-Kompally road on Wednesday evening. The vehicle contained two individuals: Pavan (20) from Suraram and Elizer alias Sunny (20) from Alwal.
During the search, STF sleuths recovered 3.24 grams of MDMA from Pavan, and 36.9 grams of OG Kush along with 7.73 grams of charas from Elizer. The total value of the contraband is estimated at ₹2.58 lakh.
Procurement and Sales
According to excise officials, Pavan sourced MDMA from a Bengaluru-based supplier and charas from a Bidar-based seller. Elizer obtained OG Kush from a local peddler in Hyderabad. Both accused are undergraduate students and friends. They purchased the drugs at lower prices and sold them at a profit to individuals from affluent families.
The excise team also seized their car. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the NDPS Act. The accused and the seized property were handed over to the Quthbullapur excise station for further investigation.
