The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) is set to conduct the written examination for the recruitment of lecturers (Pravakta Samvarg Bharti) for 624 posts across 18 subjects on May 9 and 10. A total of 4,64,605 candidates have registered for the examination, which will be held in two shifts.
Preparations Reviewed
Commission chairman Prashant Kumar on Friday reviewed the preparedness at 319 examination centres spread across 17 districts. The commission has taken extensive measures to ensure a smooth and fair examination process.
AI-Based Surveillance
Examination halls and other sensitive areas have been equipped with AI-based CCTV cameras. These cameras are connected to district control rooms and the commission’s Integrated Control and Command Centre, enabling real-time monitoring.
Strict Monitoring and Security
To maintain strict oversight, the commission has appointed one observer in each district. Prohibitory orders under Section 144 will remain in force around examination centres. Adequate security personnel will also be deployed to prevent any untoward incidents.
Action Against Malpractices
The commission has issued a stern warning that strict legal action will be taken against anyone found attempting to indulge in malpractice or operating cheating syndicates. The use of electronic devices, including mobile phones, will be strictly prohibited inside examination centres, as stated by Kumar.
Pilot Project for Transparency
In a move to enhance transparency, UPESSC will roll out a pilot project at 10 centres in the Lucknow division. Under this project, OMR answer sheets will be scanned immediately after each examination shift inside the examination hall, in the presence of both candidates and invigilators. The scanned data will be secured instantly, enabling verification with the original OMR sheets if required.
