Kolkata witnessed the 6th edition of The Health Meet and Excellence Awards 2026, organized by ASSOCHAM on Friday. The event, themed ‘The Future of Health: Human Centered AI’, brought together policymakers and industry experts to discuss the next phase of healthcare transformation driven by responsible technology and patient-first innovation.

Chief Guest Highlights State’s Potential

MLA Indranil Khan, who served as the chief guest, underscored West Bengal’s growing potential as a hub for health-tech entrepreneurship, pharmaceutical innovation, biomedical engineering, and AI-led healthcare research. He reaffirmed the government’s continued policy support focusing on ethical AI governance, digital literacy, workforce training, and responsible innovation.

Healthcare Revolution in Bengal

Emphasizing stronger healthcare delivery, Khan stated that Bengal is on the cusp of a health-sector revolution. He assured that beneficiaries would soon be covered under Ayushman Bharat and issued ABHA cards. He stressed that patient care must remain the priority across both public and private hospitals.
