In a report, Bachar noted, "Broncos quarterback Bo Nix wasn't able to play in their loss to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game due to a fractured right ankle that required surgery."
Bachar added, "While Nix is still expected to be ready for the start of the 2026 season after undergoing a recent clean-up procedure on his ankle, it would be understandable if Denver takes a cautious approach with the 26-year-old's recovery." He continued, "Jarrett Stidham remains the Broncos' backup quarterback after starting in the AFC Championship Game, but he struggled in the defeat against New England. Garoppolo could serve as a battle-tested reserve with six career playoff starts under his belt."
However, the Broncos have not officially commented on offering a deal to Garoppolo.
