Govt Mulls IAF Support for NEET Retest Security After Leak

The Centre is considering using Indian Air Force aircraft to transport NEET-UG retest question papers for June 21 as part of an intensified security strategy. The proposal was discussed during a high-level meeting led by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh with top ministers, PMO officials and NTA authorities.

Government sources said the move aims to prevent another paper leak after NEET-UG 2026 was cancelled on May 12. Multiple ministries, state police networks and central agencies are now being integrated into the examination security framework.

The high-level meeting, which included key stakeholders, deliberated on a comprehensive security overhaul to ensure the integrity of the examination process. The use of IAF aircraft would significantly reduce the risk of tampering during transportation of sensitive materials.
