Union Health Minister JP Nadda Inaugurates AI-Enabled e-ICU Command Centre in Ghaziabad
In a significant advancement for healthcare infrastructure, Union Health Minister JP Nadda inaugurated an AI-enabled e-ICU command centre on Tuesday at MMG District Hospital in Ghaziabad. This innovative facility will allow critically ill patients to receive remote specialist supervision from doctors stationed at Yashoda Medicity, enhancing access to expert medical care.
How the AI-Powered Command Centre Operates
Officials detailed that the command centre leverages artificial intelligence to provide continuous monitoring of ICU patients. The system analyses real-time clinical data, detects early signs of patient deterioration, and generates immediate alerts for medical professionals. By integrating bedside devices and hospital information systems into a centralised dashboard, it enables specialists at Yashoda Medicity to review cases and offer guidance to on-ground teams around the clock.
Strengthening Healthcare with Technology
During the inauguration, JP Nadda emphasised India's global leadership in areas such as vaccination, affordable healthcare services, and medical infrastructure. He stated, "Initiatives like this AI-enabled e-ICU showcase the transformative power of technology in bolstering our healthcare systems. This platform will deliver continuous expert oversight and remote guidance, ultimately improving outcomes for critically ill patients."

Dr. PN Arora, Chairman and Managing Director of the Yashoda Group of Hospitals, explained that the command centre combines intelligent monitoring with real-time data analysis to extend intensive care capabilities beyond tertiary hospitals. This initiative has been implemented under the hospital's corporate social responsibility programme, aiming to bridge gaps in healthcare accessibility.
