Sirsa varsity inks pact with Malaysian research journal

The Chaudhary Devi Lal University (CDLU), Sirsa, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Malaysia-based Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences Research (JHSSR) on Thursday, July 9, 2026. The five-year agreement aims to enhance the university's academic rigour in social sciences through international collaboration.

Key Objectives of the MoU

The partnership is designed to provide teachers, researchers, and students with greater opportunities for joint research, international publications, editorial work, and participation in global academic platforms. Vice-Chancellor Vijay Kumar stated that the university is committed to promoting research and innovation at the global level. He noted that the collaboration would help improve the university’s academic standards, research culture, and international recognition. The agreement also creates opportunities for joint research projects and publications with international experts.

Faculty and Resource Exchange

Under the MoU, faculty members from CDLU will be able to contribute to JHSSR’s editorial board, advisory committees, and peer-review activities. Both institutions will exchange research journals, digital resources, and other academic material. This exchange is expected to enrich the university's academic environment and provide exposure to global research practices.

Joint Academic Activities

Dean of International Relations and Foreign Affairs Anu Shukla announced that the two institutions will jointly organize national and international conferences, seminars, workshops, and multidisciplinary research projects. Training programmes on research writing, peer review, editorial practices, and academic publishing will also be conducted. Selected research papers may be published in special journal editions, further boosting the university's publication output.

Global Participation

During the signing ceremony, JHSSR Chief Executive Editor Nayan S Kavval spoke about global research trends in humanities and social sciences and introduced the journal’s team. Scholars from various countries, including Professor Wendung from Vietnam, Erika Flavia from Germany, and Kara Lee from Malaysia, shared their views virtually. Several senior university officials were present on the occasion, underscoring the significance of the partnership.
