Sneako Reacts to Dalton Eatherly Arrest: Free Speech Under Threat?
Sneako on Dalton Eatherly Arrest: Free Speech Challenged

Livestreamer Sneako believes the arrest of Dalton Eatherly, known online as Chud the Builder, could become a pivotal moment in the ongoing debate over free speech in the United States. Sneako reacted strongly after Eatherly was arrested on May 13 following a shooting outside the Montgomery County Courthouse in Clarksville, Tennessee.

Sneako's Reaction to the Arrest

During his livestream, Sneako stated that the situation demonstrated that "free speech has now been challenged" and argued that Americans are losing the rights promised under the Constitution. He claimed that people are becoming too quick to punish speech, even when it involves only words. Sneako also addressed online comparisons between Eatherly and Charlie Kirk, a conservative activist who was killed last year.

Sneako said: "Free speech has now been challenged in a way where it's not gonna be able to come back from. We no longer have free speech in the way that we are supposed to. We don't have the Amendment Rights that we are promised. If you cannot say words within a vacuum.. saying a word alone like this, people are going to get extremely upset and are gonna challenge it more."

Although Sneako disagreed with many of Kirk's views, he emphasized that violence should never result from political disagreements. He added: "Charlie Kirk was talking about gang violence. He was talking about problems within America. I disagree with so much of what he said. I used to clown him all the time… But I don't think something violent should have happened to him."

Details of the Shooting and Charges

According to CNN and a statement from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, the shooting occurred outside the courthouse on Wednesday. Authorities reported that two people were shot, including Eatherly. The second individual involved has not been publicly identified. Both men were taken to nearby hospitals and were in stable condition by Wednesday evening.

Following the incident, Eatherly was charged with attempted murder, employing a firearm during a dangerous felony, reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon, and aggravated assault. He remains in custody awaiting arraignment.

Before his arrest, Eatherly discussed the incident in a livestream, claiming he "had to defend" himself after an argument with the other man. He described how the man pointed at him and laughed, escalating tensions. CNN also reported that Eatherly has used racist language in previous videos, including calling Black people "chimps." During the post-shooting livestream, the other man allegedly warned Eatherly not to say "all that chimp stuff" before the physical confrontation.

Broader Debate on Free Speech

The case has sparked a wider online debate about free speech, online behavior, and whether offensive speech should be equated with real-world violence. While Sneako focused on constitutional rights, critics argue that repeated hateful language can create dangerous situations. The incident highlights the tension between protecting free expression and addressing the consequences of inflammatory rhetoric.
