Tieten Medicity Hospital in Thane has successfully performed one of the city's first robotic telesurgeries for gall bladder removal, known as robotic cholecystectomy, using the indigenously developed Mizzo Endo 4000 robotic surgical system. The robotic surgery was conducted over a secure 5G-enabled network, achieving an ultra-low latency of less than 10 milliseconds. The remote operation was performed by Dr. Pradeep Tripathi, Senior Consultant in GI, Laparoscopic, Robotic, and Bariatric Surgery, along with Dr. Umang Shandilya and the multidisciplinary robotic surgery team. The patient, a resident of Dombivli, was suffering from acute cholecystitis with symptomatic gallstones and severe abdominal pain.
