Agra Mother Takes Stand Against Obscene Social Media Content
An alert mother from Agra demonstrated remarkable digital responsibility this week. She filed a formal police complaint against a popular social media influencer. The influencer boasts approximately 4.5 million followers on Instagram.
Children Exposed to Vulgar Reels
The woman, identified as Rubi Tomar, supplies Ayurvedic medicines in Agra. Her colleague, Mannu Singh, first spotted a concerning video on the influencer's Instagram page. Singh promptly alerted Tomar about the content.
The situation became personal when Tomar's own children encountered the same material. While watching reels on her mobile phone, the children were exposed to the objectionable content. "They were seated next to me," Tomar recounted. "I snatched the phone from them and went to the Instagram page."
Discovery of Widespread Obscene Content
Tomar began browsing the influencer's content thoroughly. She made a disturbing discovery. The reels were consistently similar in nature. They contained obscene and vulgar material. The videos often portrayed women in a poor and degrading light.
Tomar found two separate Instagram accounts operating under the same influencer's name. Shockingly, some of the videos had amassed over one million views each. "Such content is openly accessible," Tomar stated with concern. She emphasized the potential harm, saying, "Watching these reels will corrupt the minds of our children and society."
Official Police Action Initiated
Determined to take action, Rubi Tomar approached the local cybercrime police station. She filed a detailed complaint about the influencer's activities.
ADCP Aditya Kumar Singh provided an update on Thursday. Following the complaint, authorities registered a formal First Information Report (FIR). The case invokes specific legal sections. It includes BNS section 296-B, which addresses obscene acts and songs in public places. The FIR also cites section 67 of the Information Technology Act.
"We are checking the details and investigating the matter," ADCP Singh confirmed. The police are now actively examining the evidence and the influencer's social media accounts.
This case highlights growing parental concerns about easily accessible inappropriate content on social media platforms. It also shows individuals taking proactive steps through official channels to address digital safety issues.
