Indian Student Denies Gang Ties in Canada Deportation Case

Jashandeep Singh, an Indian man linked to extortion and shooting incidents in Canada, has made shocking revelations after his friend Arshdeep Singh was deported to India for criminal activities in Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia. During his immigration hearing, Jashandeep claimed he was not connected to the gang and did not know his college friend Arshdeep was involved. He stated that his only mistake was not asking why Arshdeep had a gun, as he believed it was a toy and even posed with it.

Jashandeep's Testimony

"It was my bad. Why didn't I ask them at that point in time?" Singh testified through a Punjabi interpreter. "At that point, I didn't know if I held the gun, they would connect me with extortion." The Canadian administration seeks to deport Jashandeep as well, but he pleaded his case, noting that he came to Canada as a student in 2022 and is awaiting his post-graduate work permit.

Current Situation

Jashandeep Singh is living with his sister and brother-in-law while awaiting a decision on his stay in Canada. He expressed shame and difficulty facing his family. "My mother and father borrowed the money and sent me here," he said, "so that I could make a good future for myself. They had many hopes and dreams for me."

Admission of Presence at Shooting

While pleading innocence, Jashandeep admitted to traveling in Arshdeep's car to a location where Arshdeep fired a gun into the air multiple times. He said Arshdeep called him the night before and asked to stay at his Edmonton home for his birthday. Jashandeep shared the house with seven to eight other men. "Arshdeep had a bag. He took out a gun from that bag and showed us. I did not know whether it was a licensed or unregistered gun," Singh testified. "When I picked it up, I was just holding it and another friend of mine who was living in the house with me, I started kidding with him. I just jokingly put it on his head as we were watching films."

Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Threats

During the deportation hearing, investigator Kevin St Louis revealed that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang sent a letter last year stating they had 1,000 foot soldiers in Canada willing to carry out shootings. The letter also claimed that every business must pay 'taxes' to the Bishnoi gang.
