Oracle Dubai Office Damaged by Falling Debris Following Aerial Interception

The Dubai Media Office has officially confirmed that the office of US technology giant Oracle in Dubai Internet City sustained damage from falling debris. In a statement posted on the microblogging platform X, formerly known as Twitter, the government media office detailed the incident, stating, "Authorities confirm that they responded to a minor incident caused by debris from an aerial interception that fell on the facade of the Oracle building in Dubai Internet City."

Importantly, no injuries were reported in connection with this event, according to the official communication. This development occurs just one day after Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed responsibility for launching an attack on a data center operated by Oracle in Dubai, as reported by Al-Jazeera. The Dubai government swiftly denied this claim, labeling it as 'fake news' and asserting that the circulating reports were "fabricated and untrue."

IRGC's Recent Threats to US Tech Companies in the Region

Earlier this week, the IRGC issued explicit threats of attacks against major US technology corporations operating in the Middle East, including Microsoft, Google, and Apple. This warning is set against the backdrop of the ongoing tensions involving the United States, Israel, and Iran.

In a direct message to American companies, the IRGC declared its intention to target US technology and finance firms across the Middle East. The IRGC's post cautioned, "Employees of these companies to leave their workplaces immediately to save their lives." It further advised residents living within a one-kilometer radius of these "terrorist companies" in all regional countries to evacuate to safer locations.

In an official statement, the Guards elaborated, "These companies, starting from 8:00 pm (1630 GMT) Tehran time on Wednesday, April 1, should expect the destruction of their relevant units in exchange for every assassination in Iran."

List of Targeted Companies

Out of the 18 companies specifically named in the IRGC's letter, a significant portion—10 in total—are prominent American technology firms. The list includes industry leaders such as:

  • Microsoft
  • Apple
  • Google
  • Meta
  • IBM

This incident underscores the escalating risks faced by international tech enterprises in the volatile geopolitical landscape of the Middle East, highlighting the intersection of technology, security, and international diplomacy.
