The Panchkula police convened a meeting with owners and operators of clubs and restaurants on Tuesday to reinforce law and order and ensure a safe and disciplined atmosphere at nightlife venues across the city. During the session, law enforcement officials issued stringent warnings regarding hooliganism, hookah services, excessive noise, drug-related activities, and inappropriate behavior by bouncers.
Meeting Leadership and Attendance
The meeting was chaired by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Vikram Nehra at the district secretariat in Sector 1. It was attended by owners and representatives of clubs and restaurants operating in Sectors 5, 9, 10, and 11 of Panchkula.
Key Directives from ACP Nehra
Addressing the gathering, ACP Vikram Nehra directed all operators to maintain close surveillance on visitors and immediately inform the police about any suspicious activity. He emphasized that in case of fights, unruly behavior, or any disturbance at clubs or restaurants, owners and bouncers should avoid taking the law into their own hands and instead seek police assistance without delay.
Strict Action Against Drugs
The police also issued strict instructions regarding drugs and intoxicating substances inside clubs and restaurants. ACP Nehra stated that if any establishment is found involved in the consumption, supply, or promotion of narcotic substances, strict legal action will be initiated against the management concerned. Club operators were asked to remain vigilant about suspicious individuals and activities and to cooperate fully with the police authorities.
Verification and Conduct of Bouncers
Special emphasis was laid on the conduct and verification of bouncers deployed at nightlife venues. The ACP directed operators to hire only verified security personnel with clean backgrounds. He warned against employing individuals with criminal records and instructed bouncers to behave professionally with customers and avoid unnecessary use of force.
Ban on Hookah and Loud Music
The police administration reiterated that hookah service will not be permitted in any club or restaurant. Officials stated that strict action will be taken against establishments found violating the rules. Additionally, club owners were warned against playing loud music beyond permissible sound limits, especially during late-night hours, as it causes inconvenience to residents living nearby.
