Bihar Assembly Launches Eco-Friendly Bus Service for Staff

In a significant move to strengthen public transportation and curb petrol and diesel consumption, the Bihar legislative assembly secretariat officially launched its dedicated bus service on Monday. Bihar Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar flagged off the service, marking a new chapter in sustainable commuting for government employees.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC) Administrator Atul Kumar Verma, Chief of Administration Subhash Narayan, and other senior officials. Speaking on the occasion, Speaker Prem Kumar emphasized the necessity of promoting public transport in light of the global energy crisis. He stated that the initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal to reduce fossil fuel usage and encourage mass transit systems.

Under this new service, pink, electric, and CNG buses have been introduced specifically for the daily commute of officers and employees working in the Bihar legislative assembly secretariat. BSRTC Administrator Verma noted that the corporation already operates 25 buses successfully under the secretariat bus service. With the addition of five more buses, the dedicated service has now been formally launched, providing more convenient and efficient transportation to officers, employees, and general commuters.
