In a significant step toward modernizing airport infrastructure and enhancing passenger convenience, free public Wi-Fi service was officially inaugurated at Gorakhpur Airport on Sunday. This initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's broader vision for improving aviation facilities across India.

Virtual Launch by Union Civil Aviation Minister

The service was formally launched through a virtual event from Rajkot Airport by Union Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu Kinjarapu. The ceremony was attended by senior officials, including Civil Aviation Secretary Sameer Sinha and Airports Authority of India (AAI) Chairman Vipin Kumar, among others.

Nationwide Rollout of Passenger-Centric Facilities

During the event, several passenger-centric facilities were inaugurated nationwide as part of a comprehensive upgrade effort. These included:

Boosting Digital Connectivity for Travelers

The introduction of free Wi-Fi at Gorakhpur Airport is expected to significantly improve digital connectivity for travelers, allowing them to make productive use of their waiting time. This move is part of a larger strategy to transform airports into modern, digitally enabled hubs.

Welcoming the initiative, Gorakhpur MP and Airport Advisory Committee Chairman Ravi Kishan Shukla emphasized that this development would strengthen efforts to upgrade passenger facilities. He highlighted the importance of such initiatives in enhancing the overall travel experience and positioning Gorakhpur Airport as a key regional aviation center.
