The Grama Bairagi Association (GBA) has announced plans to open new centres for e-Khata services across 52 locations in Bengaluru. This initiative aims to streamline the process of obtaining property documents for residents, reducing the need for multiple visits to government offices.
Expansion of E-Khata Services
The GBA will establish these centres in various parts of the city to ensure wider accessibility. The e-Khata system digitizes property records, allowing homeowners to access and download their Khata certificates online. With the new centres, citizens can receive assistance in registering, updating, and retrieving their e-Khata documents.
Benefits for Residents
Residents will benefit from reduced waiting times and simplified procedures. The centres will be equipped with trained staff to guide users through the digital process. This move is expected to benefit thousands of property owners, especially those in rural-urban fringe areas where digital literacy may be limited.
The GBA is collaborating with local authorities to ensure seamless integration with existing land record databases. The centres will also offer support for grievance redressal related to property documents.
This expansion is part of a broader push by the Karnataka government to digitize land records and improve transparency in property transactions. The e-Khata system has been praised for reducing corruption and making property data easily verifiable.
