Giant Tech Park Opens in Ahmedabad, Attracts Global Firms

In a significant development for Ahmedabad's aspirations to become a global technology and services hub, the Million Minds IT Park near Vaishnodevi Junction was inaugurated on Sunday by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The park is poised to host several multinational companies, marking a major boost for the city's economy.

Multinational Companies Set to Establish Operations

Companies planning to set up base at the park include Singapore-headquartered cloud consulting firm Searce, Germany-origin digital transformation company Valtech, US-based accounting and advisory firm Withum, along with IBM, TCS, Kashiv Biosciences, DevX, and APSER Lifesciences. Officials confirmed that 8 lakh square feet of the 1.3 million square feet first phase has already been leased.

Project Positioning and Infrastructure

The project is being positioned as a large integrated campus aimed at attracting multinational corporations, Global Capability Centres (GCCs), IT and ITeS firms, and advanced engineering companies seeking globally compliant office infrastructure. This initiative is expected to accelerate Ahmedabad's transition into a globally competitive service-sector economy.

Investment and Future Plans

Shekhar Patel, Managing Director of Ganesh Housing Corporation Ltd, stated that the project is designed to meet the requirements of large global occupiers. The company plans to invest around Rs 15,000 crore in the project through internal accruals and bank borrowings. Additionally, it intends to set up a 2MW data centre at the tech park with an investment of approximately Rs 150 crore to cater to the growing demand from IT and AI companies expected to operate in the park.

This development is a key step in strengthening Ahmedabad's position as a global technology hub, attracting leading firms and fostering economic growth.
