NCRTC Unveils Major Fast-Charging Hub to Boost Electric Vehicle Adoption
The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has taken a significant leap forward in promoting sustainable transportation by commissioning the largest fast electric vehicle (EV) charging station along the Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat Corridor. This state-of-the-art facility, strategically located at Anand Vihar, represents a crucial infrastructure development aimed at accelerating the transition to clean mobility across the region.
High-Capacity Charging Infrastructure with Rapid Service
The newly inaugurated charging hub is equipped with an impressive array of 10 high-capacity chargers, each boasting a power output of 480 kW. This advanced setup enables remarkably quick charging times, allowing four-wheelers to reach an 80% charge in approximately 30 minutes. Furthermore, the station includes dedicated charging points specifically designed for heavy commercial electric vehicles, ensuring comprehensive support for various segments of the EV ecosystem.
Seamless Digital Access and Real-Time Monitoring
EV users can conveniently access this charging facility through the ElectreeFi mobile application. The process involves a simple registration on the app followed by booking an online charging slot at the preferred Namo Bharat station. Once the booking is confirmed, vehicles can be charged within minutes, minimizing waiting times and enhancing user convenience. The application also provides real-time monitoring of charging status and facilitates seamless digital payments, creating a smooth and efficient experience for all users.
Expanding EV Infrastructure Across the Corridor
With the addition of the Anand Vihar station, the EV charging infrastructure now spans eight key locations along the Delhi-Meerut corridor. These include:
- Sahibabad
- Guldhar
- Duhai
- Muradnagar
- Modinagar South
- Modinagar North
- Meerut South
This expansion significantly enhances the accessibility and reliability of charging options, addressing range anxiety and supporting the growing adoption of electric vehicles in the National Capital Region.
The initiative underscores NCRTC's commitment to fostering environmentally friendly transportation solutions and aligns with broader national goals for reducing carbon emissions and promoting sustainable urban mobility.
