The Mumbai traffic police have announced new parking restrictions on GM Bhosle Road in Worli to decongest the streets and manage the increasing traffic volume. The measures will be in effect from May 7 to August 4.
Why the Restrictions Are Needed
GM Bhosle Road is a crucial two-way road connecting PK Kurne Chowk to Acharya Atre Chowk (Worli Naka). It experiences heavy vehicular traffic and significant pedestrian movement. The traffic police noted that despite repeated warnings, drivers and vehicle owners have been parking on the main road in large numbers, leading to congestion and disorderly parking.
Details of the Parking Ban
The following parking prohibitions will be enforced on GM Bhosle Marg (south bound and north bound):
- Taxis, commercial four-wheelers, and heavy vehicles: Parking is completely prohibited on both southbound and northbound lanes.
- Two-wheelers and private four-wheelers: Parking is prohibited on southbound lanes on even dates, and on northbound lanes on odd dates.
These regulations aim to streamline traffic flow and ensure safety for all road users. The traffic police have urged citizens to comply with the restrictions and avoid parking in the designated areas to prevent penalties.
