A passenger traveling on a Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) bus was left astonished after receiving a ticket to Dubai with a fare of Rs 10,000. The incident occurred on Monday in Bhavani, where P. Damadoran boarded a Coimbatore-Bengaluru bus at Bhavani Bypass with his friend M. Raja. Their intended destination was Hosur, which normally costs Rs 150 from Bhavani.
Shocking Discovery
After paying the fare, Damadoran was shocked when he examined the ticket issued by the conductor. Instead of showing Bhavani to Hosur, the ticket read: Bhavani Bypass to Dubai, UAE. The fare printed was Rs 10,000 per male passenger, far exceeding the actual cost.
Social Media Reaction
Damadoran posted the ticket on social media, where it quickly went viral. Many users reacted with sarcastic comments, finding humor in the absurd error. The post garnered widespread attention, highlighting the unusual mistake.
Official Clarification
Later, officials from the TNSTC Salem division clarified that the erroneous ticket was due to a software error in the electronic ticketing machine. They assured that the issue would be rectified to prevent such incidents in the future.
The incident serves as a reminder of the occasional glitches in automated systems, though passengers can rest assured that such errors are rare and typically addressed promptly by authorities.
