Gorakhpur: The Punjab National Bank (PNB) organized the half-yearly meeting and annual program of the Nagar Rajbhasha Karyanvayan Samiti (Bank–Insurance) at its zonal office auditorium in Alhadadpur on Wednesday, with a primary focus on promoting the use of Hindi in official work.
Session Highlights
The session was chaired by Divisional Head M.K. Mohan, while Deputy Director (Implementation) Chhabil Kumar Meher from the Rajbhasha Department, Ministry of Home Affairs, attended as the chief guest. The program commenced with floral tributes to PNB founder Lala Lajpat Rai and Goddess Saraswati, followed by a ceremonial lamp lighting. Deputy Divisional Head Brijesh Kumar Verma delivered the welcome address, and Mohan highlighted the committee's achievements over the past six months.
Keynote Address and Publications
In his keynote address, Meher emphasized the importance of strengthening the use of Hindi in administrative functioning and offered guidance to member institutions. On this occasion, the latest issue of the Hindi house journal Rapti Pravah and the inaugural edition of PNB's e-magazine PNB Gorakhdham were released.
Awards and Recognition
A total of 64 winners from 12 Hindi competitions organized by member offices were honored with awards and certificates. Additionally, the annual Rajbhasha Shield winners for the financial year 2025–26 were felicitated during the event.
