KTM India Expands RC 160 Sportbike Palette with Two New Matte Finishes
KTM India has unveiled a fresh visual update for its entry-level fully faired sportbike, the RC 160, by introducing two new color options. The motorcycle now comes in Electronic Orange Matte and Ceramic White Matte shades, broadening the selection for enthusiasts and buyers in the Indian market. Despite these cosmetic enhancements, the price remains steady at Rs 1.85 lakh, ex-showroom, ensuring affordability alongside style.
Signature Racing-Inspired and Striking New Hues
The Electronic Orange Matte finish embodies KTM's iconic racing heritage, mirroring the vibrant colors found on larger RC models, while the Ceramic White Matte is a novel addition. This white variant features a sleek base adorned with black and orange graphics, creating a bold and eye-catching aesthetic that stands out on the road. Alongside these new options, the RC 160 continues to be available in its classic black shade, catering to diverse preferences.
Unchanged Mechanical Performance and Hardware
This update is purely visual, with no alterations to the mechanical components. The RC 160 retains its robust 164.2cc liquid-cooled SOHC engine, which delivers 18.73 bhp at 9,500 rpm and 15.5 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. Paired with a six-speed gearbox, KTM claims a top speed of 118 kmph, maintaining the bike's spirited performance. The hardware includes a trellis frame, 37 mm upside-down front forks, and a rear monoshock suspension for agile handling.
Braking is managed by a 320 mm front disc and a 230 mm rear disc, both supported by dual-channel ABS with Supermoto mode for enhanced safety. Additional features like an assist and slipper clutch contribute to a smoother riding experience. The design elements, such as the large front fairing, muscular side panels, and sharp tail section, give the RC 160 a premium, bigger-bike appearance despite its 160cc displacement.
This strategic refresh by KTM India aims to attract more buyers by offering updated styling without compromising on performance or value, reinforcing the RC 160's position in the competitive sportbike segment.
