Mahindra XEV 9S: Pricing, Battery Options, and Key Dates

The new XEV 9S is built on Mahindra's dedicated INGLO platform, which it shares with other EVs like the XEV 9e and BE 6. The SUV will be offered in four main trim levels: Pack One Above, Pack Two Above, Pack Three, and Pack Three Above. Buyers have a choice of three battery packs: 59 kWh, 70 kWh, and 79 kWh, offering a claimed range of up to 679 km.

Mahindra has announced a clear timeline for prospective customers. Test drives will begin on December 5, 2025, followed by the commencement of bookings on January 14, 2026. The first deliveries are scheduled to start from January 23, 2026.

Variant-Wise Breakdown and Features

The entry-level Pack One Above starts at ₹19.95 lakh for the 59 kWh battery and ₹21.95 lakh for the 79 kWh option. Standard features include bi-LED headlamps, a panoramic sunroof, a triple-screen dashboard with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a six-speaker audio system, and six airbags.

The Pack Two Above (₹24.45 lakh - ₹25.45 lakh) upgrades to 18-inch alloy wheels, a Harman Kardon 16-speaker audio system with Dolby Atmos, ventilated front seats, and a Level 2 ADAS safety suite with a 360-degree camera.

The Pack Three (₹27.35 lakh) adds an adaptive suspension, connected LED DRLs, ambient lighting, second-row ventilated seats, and a more advanced Level 2+ ADAS system with five radars.

The flagship Pack Three Above (₹29.45 lakh) is powered by a Snapdragon 8295 processor and boasts features like AutoPark Assist, an Augmented Reality Head-Up Display (AR HUD), and a driver monitoring system.

Powertrain, Performance, and Market Position

The electric powertrain delivers different power outputs based on the battery. The 59 kWh pack produces 228 bhp, the 70 kWh makes 242 bhp, and the top 79 kWh variant delivers a robust 282 bhp. All variants have a maximum torque of 380 Nm. While the claimed ranges are impressive, Mahindra estimates a real-world range of approximately 400 km to 500 km depending on the battery.

With its practical three-row seating and competitive pricing, the XEV 9S is poised to become a key player in India's growing premium electric SUV market. It offers a familiar XUV700 silhouette with a futuristic, tech-loaded interior, appealing to families looking to make the switch to electric mobility without compromising on space or features.
