Mahindra and Mahindra has officially launched the new Mahindra XUV 3XO electric SUV in the Indian market. This electric vehicle is based on the ICE-powered 3XO model and replaces the Mahindra XUV400. Bookings for the XUV 3XO electric are expected to begin soon, with deliveries scheduled to start on February 23, 2026.

The Mahindra XUV 3XO EV comes in two variants: AX5 and AX7 L. The AX5 is priced at Rs 13.89 lakh, while the AX7 L costs Rs 14.96 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom. An optional 7.2kW charger is available for an additional Rs 50,000.

In comparison, the Tata Nexon EV offers two battery pack options: 30 kWh and 45 kWh. It has multiple variants including Creative, Creative Plus, Fearless, Fearless Plus, Fearless Plus (S), Empowered, Empowered Plus, Empowered Plus A, and Empowered Plus A Red Dark edition. Prices range from Rs 12.49 lakh to Rs 17.49 lakh ex-showroom. The 7.2kW charger for the Nexon EV is an optional extra costing Rs 25,000.

The base XUV 3XO EV starts Rs 1.40 lakh higher than the base Nexon EV. However, the top-spec XUV 3XO EV at Rs 14.96 lakh is Rs 2.53 lakh cheaper than the top-spec Nexon EV priced at Rs 17.49 lakh.

The XUV 3XO measures 3900 mm in length, 1821 mm in width, and 1617 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2600 mm, 16-inch wheels, and a ground clearance of 190 mm.

The Nexon EV measures 3995 mm in length, 1802 mm in width, and 1625 mm in height. Its wheelbase is 2498 mm. It also gets 16-inch wheels, with ground clearance of 190 mm for the 45kWh version and 205 mm for the 30 kWh version.

The Nexon EV is 95 mm longer and 8 mm taller than the XUV 3XO. The XUV 3XO is 19 mm wider and offers a significantly longer wheelbase by 102 mm.

The new XUV 3XO is powered by a 39.4kWh battery pack paired with a single electric motor that sends power to the front wheels. The motor produces 147 bhp and 310 Nm of torque. Mahindra claims a real-world range of 285 km, though ARAI figures are not yet revealed. It can accelerate from 0-100kph in 8.3 seconds and features three drive modes: fun, fast, and fearless. Using a 50kW DC charger, the battery can be charged from 0 to 80 percent in 50 minutes.

The Nexon EV comes with two battery pack options: 30kWh and 45kWh. Both variants use a front-mounted electric motor delivering 145 hp and 215 Nm. The 30kWh version offers an ARAI-certified range of 325km, while the 45kWh version provides a range of 489km on a full charge.

Features on the XUV 3XO EV include a panoramic sunroof, twin 10.25-inch screens for infotainment and cluster, LED projector headlamps with DRLs, Adrenox with built-in Alexa, 65W Type-C charging ports, a cooled glove box, and a seven-speaker Harman Kardon music system with Dolby Atmos. Safety features comprise Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, six airbags, auto-dimming IRVM, ESC, TCS, and ABS.

The Nexon EV features a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connected car tech, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, auto climate control, a 360-degree camera, a wireless charger, ventilated front seats, an air purifier, fast charging Type-C ports, a single-pane sunroof, a JBL-branded sound system, voice commands, OTA updates, the Arcade.ev app suite, and Level 2 ADAS.

The Mahindra XUV 3XO electric SUV enters a competitive segment, directly challenging the Tata Nexon EV. With its launch, Mahindra aims to strengthen its position in India's growing electric vehicle market.
