Mahindra & Mahindra is set to unveil one of the most anticipated SUVs of the year, the XUV 7XO, on January 5. Positioned as a rebadged and comprehensively revamped version of the popular XUV700, this new model promises a blend of familiar DNA with significant upgrades. The automaker has opened pre-bookings for the SUV starting December 15 and has been building excitement through a series of social media teasers, the latest of which reveals several groundbreaking features.
Cutting-Edge Tech Takes Center Stage
The latest preview from Mahindra confirms that the XUV 7XO will be a technology powerhouse. Leading the pack is an innovative 540-degree camera system. This goes beyond the standard 360-degree view by adding a virtual underbody view, allowing drivers to see the terrain beneath the vehicle. This technology, also seen in the recently launched Tata Harrier EV, draws inspiration from systems used in high-end Land Rover models. Cameras mounted under the bonnet feed a live stream to the touchscreen, aiding in precise manoeuvring over tricky surfaces.
Connectivity and Cabin Innovation
Following the trend set by its electric sibling, the XEV 9S, the XUV 7XO will introduce a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) feature for rear-seat passengers. The backs of the front seats will come equipped with dedicated tablet holders and powerful 65W Type-C USB chargers to keep devices powered. This feature is expected to be available in the higher variants of the SUV, enhancing in-car entertainment and productivity.
Next-Generation Digital Experience
Inside the cabin, drivers and passengers will be greeted by a sophisticated triple-screen setup. This includes a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster and dual 12.3-inch touchscreen displays for the centre console and the front passenger. These screens will be powered by the new Adrenox Plus AI operating system, which Mahindra claims is a substantial advancement over the current Adrenox OS, promising a more intuitive and responsive user interface.
Enhanced Safety with Advanced ADAS
Safety and driving assistance receive a major boost in the XUV 7XO. The SUV will be equipped with a Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite. This updated package is described as more advanced than the ADAS technology offered in Mahindra's current lineup. It will incorporate a wide array of features designed to improve both driving convenience and overall safety, making highway drives less strenuous and potentially preventing accidents.
While sharing its foundational design philosophy with the XEV 9S electric concept, the XUV 7XO will be distinctly powered by an internal combustion engine, catering to a broad segment of the Indian market. With its launch just around the corner, the XUV 7XO is poised to redefine expectations in the competitive SUV space with its fusion of bold design, premium cabin tech, and robust safety features.
