Mini Countryman C SUV India Launch on June 17, 2026

Mini India has commenced pre-bookings for the new Mini Countryman C SUV in the Indian market. The made-in-India SUV is scheduled to be launched on June 17, 2026. Interested customers can reserve the vehicle exclusively through Mini dealerships across the country.

Local Production and Pricing

The new Mini Countryman C will be locally manufactured at the BMW Group plant in Chennai. The upcoming SUV is expected to be priced between Rs 40 lakh and Rs 45 lakh, positioning it as a premium compact luxury SUV. It will compete directly with the BMW X1, Audi Q3, Mercedes-Benz GLA, Volvo XC40, and other similarly priced models.

Engine and Performance

The Mini Countryman C is anticipated to feature a 1.5-litre, three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing 136 hp and 230 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) and drives the front wheels. The same powertrain is also used in the BMW X1. The Countryman is built on the front-wheel-drive UKL2 platform, which it shares with the locally assembled BMW X1.

Design Highlights

In terms of design, the Mini Countryman C adopts styling cues from the JCW and electric variants. Key elements include circular headlamps, a more squared grille, an upright nose, and a revised bumper, giving the SUV a stronger presence compared to earlier models. The side profile features a boxy silhouette with a flat roofline, upright stance, and squared wheel arches. The longer wheelbase enhances proportions and interior space. At the rear, LED tail-lamps with a modern lighting signature, a clean tailgate, and minimal detailing complete the look.

Interior and Features

Inside, the cabin showcases a revised layout focused on a cleaner, contemporary design while retaining iconic Mini elements. The minimalist approach reduces clutter and emphasizes usability. A central circular OLED touchscreen dominates the dashboard, replacing the conventional instrument cluster and infotainment system. Below the screen, toggle-style physical switches provide tactile controls. The interior incorporates textile-based surfaces and recycled materials, including a knit fabric dashboard that extends across the cabin.

Expected features include a 9.4-inch OLED touchscreen, connected car technology, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, a head-up display, a Harman Kardon sound system, a 360-degree camera, a sunroof, and more.
